The CLF aside, Chicago does, in fact, go on and I'm not one to sit and hide when I'm perfectly capable of handling any threat that might cross my path. As are you, actually... As you've proven countless times before.

The point of this is that I don't suppose we've actually made many attempts to do anything together, primarily because I'm not really that sort of person and spontaneity is hardly my strong point, but it's been brought to my attention that.... Perhaps I need to lighten up, stop analyzing everything, and actually do something other than whatever I'm doing, which, honestly, appears to be a whole lot of feeling sorry for myself.

And now to the actual point... Is there anything you particularly want to do? Your choice- anything you want. I've found myself in a mood where I'm willing to try almost anything within reason.

When Ms. Cartwright mentioned that the Tower was "creepy," I assumed she meant the ghosts. Somehow that description doesn't take into account the first-floor hallway that, if I'm correct in my assumption, assaults you with your own inner demons. Of course, there's a chance you might not have known about that, but, rest assured, myself and a woman named Faith Lehane can attest that it does, in fact, do exactly that.

At any rate, I assumed you'd like to be made aware of that fact before anyone else wanders down there and gets out of it significantly less in one piece than Ms. Lehane and I did.

At this point, I think one piece is relative. If I did something recently to anger the universe in some way I'm clearly unaware of, you would tell me, wouldn't you? [/locked]

It's very disconcerting to hear about common places that wanderers frequent being burned to the ground in acts of terrorism against us, only to realize that your flat happens to be in a complex known for catering to wanderers.

Please tell me the building isn't on fire and you're safe. We can move someplace safer as soon as I'm able to get back, but please just assure me that you're there, unharmed, and the building is intact.

I seem to have mysteriously come into the ownership of no less than three bottles of Château Pétrus '82, with instructions that I'm to share at least one of them. Granted, I'm not normally inclined to listen to messages when I have no idea who sent them, but I'm at least mostly certain that it's not poisoned.

At any rate, you strike me as someone who can appreciate the finer points of a rare Bordeaux wine. [/Locked]

[Locked to April]

Set my mind at ease and tell me that there is a perfectly logical reason for why there are three bottles of fine wine in my apartment. It isn't just me, is it? I imagine that if something happened, you'd be at least marginally aware of it, if it wasn't. [/Locked]

Would you mind coming down here?

I'm assuming Sydney has gotten in touch with you regarding this mission, but on the off-chance that she didn't, we've been conscripted into taking down an assassin on behalf of my contact who, should we prove successful, will be more than happy to provide us with information about the group responsible for the recent string of attacks- the bank, the fear gas, etc. Whether we like it or not, of all the people in this city, we're probably best suited to handle that sort of group. I doubt you could find any reason to disagree with me on that.

If at all possible, I'd like to meet with you all at the Conrad for a briefing tomorrow, now that my contact has supplied me with all the necessary information. We have a very small window of opportunity and this will have to be done as soon as possible. It would be wise for all of us to be on the same page and soon.

And this, perhaps, may be a stupid question, but I feel I better ask it anyway... Does anyone actually have a gun?

I'm going to go out on a very strategically placed limb here and assume that you know about Ariel's plan to keep us away from her Imperialness in lieu of Torchwood's recent exodus. Apparently, she feels it necessary to protect her ward first and foremost, so I'm in the first group. Per my suggestion, you are too... That is, assuming you're ready to leave? Can't see why anyone would want to stay down here unless the sentimental value is too much to let go of, but, really, sentimental value doesn't outweight the cost of what might happen if we're left to our devices down there with Romana, honestly.

So I suppose, in short, the real question is are you coming with me?
